| FEATURES |
This is a system of press tooling to pierce sheets.
Piercing of holes and cutting of corners and edges
is activated. The position of holes can be altered
by re-arranging the tools. The system operates on
the principle that each Unit(frame) carries a die
and punch, which is interchangeable for size. Each
unit is intended to punch on hole. several units
are employed together to punch multiple holes. The
position of the Units is shifted to achieve different
patterns of punching. The edge and corner cutting
units are designated as notching units.
The tools require to be used in a press or press
brake which will give the power to cut. The units
have their own stripping arrangements. Multiple
punching of holes is achieved on account of common
die and shut heights.
The same tools are repeatedly used to punch different
components. |

Sheets are located with respect to
the Punching units in many ways such as:
- Stoppers for edge of sheet combined with feed rails.
- With second operation locators.
- Spring Loaded type of stoppers.
- Special arrangement design for specific requirements.
- Mounting arrangement and sheet stopping arrangement
are also supplied by us.

| VARIOUS MODELS
OF UNIT TOOLS |
|
|
| |
| TONNAGE : |
| The tonnage of the press depends on the
number of holes being punched, the thickness of the sheet
and the diameter of the holes being pierced. We could
give tonnage charts on request. |
| |
| SHEET THICKNESS: |
| Number of Unit piercing and Notching
Tools are available for working on sheet Up to 3.2mm thickness
or 10 gauge MS Sheet. We also have tools to punch on plate
Up to 6.4mm Thickness. Tools for structural fabrication
have their own ranges. |
| |
| THROAT DEPTHS : |
| The throat depth determines the maximum
distance of the hole Centrex from the sheet edge. Units
are available with 100, 200, 300 and 500mm throat depths. |
| |
ELONGATED, SQUARE OPENING |
| Openings in the nature of elongated slots,
rectangular, square or hexagonal opening or any special
shape can also be pierced in a special type of unit. These
units are titled ‘Profile Piercing Units’
wherein the punch and the die button are prevented from
rotation. |
| |
CUTTING CLEARANCE / DIE SIZE
|
| The size of the opening in the Die button
will depend on the sheet thickness being punched.
6% to 7% of the sheet metal thickness per side for mild
steel punching would be satisfactory. While the
same punch could be used for different sheet thickness,
different die buttons would have to be purchased depending
on thickness. However, in order to rationalize, components
may be grouped as those less than 1 mm to 2 mm, 2mm to
3mm etc., |
| |
NOTCHING TOOLS |
| Notching Units are complete and do not
require ordering of dies and punches separately. These
can be used either along with the other units of the system
or individual for the sole purpose of notching. |
| |
SIZE OF DIES AND PUNCHES |
| All punches and dies used in Unit Tools
can be made and supplied by us. Any size falling within
its range can be ordered. Part numbers of the punches
and dies are listed in the individual specifications sheets. |
| |
REGRINDING |
| Piercing punches are provided 4 mm material
for regrinding. Die buttons are provided with a land of
3 mm for regrinding. The die height can be maintained
constant by providing shims below die buttons that are
reground. Adjustable caps allow punch length to be maintained. |
| |
SPECIFICATION SHEET
|
| Every unit has been provided with a specification
sheet for dimensional details. These specification sheets
can be had from us on request. These sheets should
be studied before you order your units. These sheets give
the part number of the punch, die button and guide bush
used in the particular frame. Operating instructions for
our units are provided by us at the time of supplying
the material. |

HOW TO SELECT A SUITABLE TOOL |
| We have provided a separate sheet on
this subject. It helps you step by step in the selection
of the appropriate tool or tools |
